A love of good design and beautiful interiors was the driving force behind the partnership between Ark, Arior design and their clients Rami and Juliet. This large family home was transformed from small and unsuitable to a modern light filled space for all occasions.
Rami and Juliet brought their large Victorian family home knowing they wanted to knock through the kitchen and small rear rooms into a large open plan family kitchen-diner at the first opportunity. They employed Architects from Arior Design who provide a design-focused refurbishment service. The Ark team were thrilled to work with Arior design to realise their clean, contemporary townhouse extension.
Ark’s first job was inserting the large steels to open up the back of the house before building the side return extension and knocking down several walls. Once the three Velux windows were fitted and powder coated Aluminium bifold doors installed the large room was flooded with light. The bifold doors open completely allowing the family to make the most of their garden and enjoy inside-outside living.
Juliet and Rami wanted a modern kitchen perfect for cooking, dining and relaxing, allowing the family to spend time together in comfort. Ark fitted the entire kitchen, built in appliances and contemporary tiles. The impressive stainless steel worktop was custom made, but worth the short wait as it gives an ultra-modern, high-tech feel to the room. Ark joiners fitted the bespoke oak wrap-round floating shelves in the cooking area; meaning cookbooks are always close at hand. Juliet was keen to add a small downstairs bathroom and Ark set about fitting a new suite, shower enclosure and tiles. To keep the family cosy Ark installed under floor heating throughout the extension.
The finishing touches where added by Arks decorating team who painted the entire space in Farrow and Ball, Juliet opted for a dark grey feature wall which gives this family room an intimate atmosphere, while the bespoke floating oak shelves add warmth and texture.
